Handmade Yixing Purple Clay (Zisha) Teapot 200ml - Han Wa (Han Tile)
A purple clay teapot is a type of handmade pottery originating from Yixing, China. Made from rare and natural purple clay, these teapots are prized for enhancing the flavor and aroma of tea while offering a distinct aesthetic appeal. The unique properties of Zisha (purple clay) make it ideal for brewing fine teas.
The Han Wa (汉瓦) Design
The name "Han Wa" translates to "Han Dynasty Tile." The design is deeply inspired by the ancient roof tiles used in traditional Chinese architecture during the Han Dynasty. These tiles historically symbolize shelter, peace, and the enduring strength of ancient heritage.
This teapot is a masterful example of geometric minimalism and practical design. It features a robust, straight cylindrical body, a wide, flat lid with a classic bridge-shaped knob, and a short, powerful straight spout that ensures a smooth and crisp water flow. Its subtle granular texture will develop a beautiful, natural luster over time. Its large opening makes it exceptionally user-friendly for adding and cleaning tea leaves.
Crafted from premium Zini (Purple Clay)—this teapot features a rich, earthy purplish-brown hue. Renowned for its excellent breathability and unique dual-porosity structure, Zini is exceptionally versatile, gently rounding out astringency and elevating the complex flavors of roasted oolongs, pu-erh, and black teas. With regular use, the naturally textured surface will gradually absorb the tea's essential oils, developing a deep, mellow, and beautifully warm patina over time.
