About Purple Clay Teapot
Handmade purple clay (zisha) teapots from Yixing, Jiangsu, the home of zisha pottery. Each pot is shaped by hand by artisans including Wang Yinfang, Liu Juan, Wu Lijun and Yang Jin'e, in classic forms such as Shi Piao, Xi Shi, Shui Ping and Fu Yuan.
Zisha clay is naturally porous, so a pot seasons with use and rounds out the tea's flavour over time. At 140–220 ml, they are an ideal size for brewing pu-erh gongfu style. Tip: keep one pot for raw pu-erh and another for ripe.
