Chen Sheng Hao Famous Mountain Tea Series

Once reserved for the imperial court, Kunlu Mountain (困鹿山) tea carries centuries of tribute-tea history into the modern tea table.

Located in Ning’er County, Pu’er City, Kunlu Mountain lies within the southern extension of the Wuliang Mountains. Ning’er was historically the seat of Pu’er Prefecture and an important starting point of the Ancient Tea Horse Road. Its high mountains, misty climate, fertile soil, and pristine ecology create ideal conditions for exceptional Pu-erh tea.

During the Qing dynasty, Kunlu Mountain was designated as an imperial tea garden. Its finest spring leaves were carefully harvested and processed under official supervision before being sent to the palace as tribute tea.

A Historic Mountain, Reintroduced

After nineteen years of exploring Yunnan’s renowned tea regions, Chen Sheng Hao now brings Kunlu Mountain into its Famous Mountain Tea Series.

The leaves are selected from core ancient tea gardens near Kunlu Mountain’s old village, where wild, transitional, and cultivated tea trees coexist. Large-, medium-, and small-leaf varieties grow together, earning the area recognition as a natural museum of tea-tree diversity.

Tasting Profile

The dry leaves are tender, tightly twisted, and covered with fine silvery down. Once brewed, they release a persistent orchid fragrance and produce a clear, golden liquor.

The tea is sweet, smooth, and refined, with calm tea energy, a silky texture, and a long-lasting returning sweetness. Its elegant floral aroma and deep throat sensation remain expressive through more than ten infusions.

Aroma: Orchid and mountain florals
Taste: Sweet, smooth, clean, and refined
Texture: Silky and rounded
Finish: Lingering sweetness and salivation
Tea energy: Calm and steady

Rare in origin and graceful in character, Chen Sheng Hao’s 2026 Kunlu Mountain offers a taste of Ning’er’s centuries-old tribute-tea heritage and the pure spirit of its ancient tea forests.

A tea worthy of both careful tasting and thoughtful collection.
