Regular price
$160.00

Located in Yunnan's Xishuangbanna, Banzhang Village lies in the heart of Bulang Mountain and is home to five natural villages including LaoBanZhang, XinBanZhang, and Lao Man’E. With an average elevation of 1,700 meters, the area is shrouded in mist year-round and experiences abundant rainfall. Banzhang's tea trees have thrived in the dense mountain forests for centuries, producing high-quality Pu'er tea with rich flavors, strong aromas, and a full-bodied taste of mountain and wilderness.
BanZhang Pu’er tea is renowned for its excellent quality, making it one of the favorites among tea enthusiasts. Chen Sheng LaoBanZhang Pu’er tea is particularly rare and sought after. To make BanZhang's unique taste accessible to more people at an affordable price, Chen Sheng introduced the specially crafted Ban Zhang Yin Xiang (the impression of Ban Zhang), now in its second year of production.
So, what are the differences between Ban Zhang Yin Xiang and LaoBanZhang?
Chen Sheng Lao Ban Zhang |
Made from SINGLE-ORIGIN materials sourced from tea trees over 300 years old in Lao Ban Zhang village, this tea ranks among the prestigious Pu'er tea mountains, offering an authentic flavor and a lasting aftertaste. |
Ban Zhang Yin Xiang |
Carefully using single-origin spring fresh leaves of large-leaf tea trees aged between 100 and 300 years old from the Ban Zhang area to resemble the taste of LaoBanZhang Pu’er tea, Ban Zhang Yin Xiang is affordably priced without compromising on quality. |
Dry Leaves:
Plump and sturdy, visibly downy with silver hairs.
Tea Liquor:
Clear and bright, with a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel, the floral-honey aroma blends into the liquor, leaving a lasting fragrance in the leaves and at the bottom of the cup.
Taste:
Balanced and full-bodied, with a strong but short-lived bitterness that turns sweet, showing the strong, authentic taste of Ban Zhang.
Infused Leaf:
Flexible and vibrant green leaves with good resilience.
Gongfu style (recommended)
5–7 g of leaf per 100 ml, water at 95–100 °C. Rinse once for about 5 seconds and pour it away. Start with 10–15 second infusions and add a few seconds each round. Good pu-erh gives 10 or more infusions.
Western style
3 g per 250 ml cup, water at 95–100 °C, steep 3–5 minutes.
Storage
Keep the cake in a clean, dry place away from sunlight and strong smells.
