2021 Zodiac Ox Raw Pu-erh Tea 3kg
“Niu Zhuan Qian Kun 牛转乾坤”, the second round of Chinese zodiac tea of Chen Sheng Hao, is a three-kilogram Pu’er tea cake specially made for appreciation and collection.
“牛转乾坤 Niu Zhuan Qian Kun” pronounces the same as a Chinese four-character idiom “Niu Zhuan Qian Kun 扭转乾坤” in Mandarin. “Niu 牛 (Ox, represents the Year of the Ox 2021)” takes the homophone of “Niu 扭 (reverse, change)”. It is a metaphor that fundamentally changes the whole situation. In the Year of the Rat 2020, many people had a hard time. Therefore, everyone wants to bid farewell to the unusual year in the past, and turn things around in the Year of the Ox.
The name “Niu Zhuan Qian Kun 牛转乾坤” is full of good luck and good wishes, meaning a farewell to the unusual year in the past, and wishing everyone can overcome the difficulties in the new year.
This Pu’er tea uses large-leaf subspecies Camellia sinensis growing in the high mountains of Xishuangbanna as raw material. It adopted traditional craftsmanship, machine pressing, and stone grinding and shaping. The pressed tea cake has moderate tightness, which is better for the later transformation and aging process of tea.
Gongfu style (recommended)
5–7 g of leaf per 100 ml, water at 95–100 °C. Rinse once for about 5 seconds and pour it away. Start with 10–15 second infusions and add a few seconds each round. Good pu-erh gives 10 or more infusions.
Western style
3 g per 250 ml cup, water at 95–100 °C, steep 3–5 minutes.
