2022 Bing Dao Raw Pu-erh Tea
"Bing Dao" is a raw Puerh tea that means "Ice Island" in English, selected Dashu Cha (large-leaf arbor tree leaves) from the Bingdao Village, Mengku Town, Lincang, Yunnan Province, China. Bing Dao Pu Erh rose to fame in recent years because of its exceptional quality with prices even higher than Lao Ban Zhang Pu Erh which is seen as the King of Pu Erh Tea.
The first "Bing Dao" of Chen Sheng Hao was released in 2020, and the 2020 and 2021 "Bing Dao" rapidly sold out due to low output and high demand. Therefore, this is why we never listed it on our website. The 2022 Bing Dao is a new version of 200g mini tea cakes, and we have a limited quantity of cakes available this time for tea lovers to try the pure taste of Bing Dao.
Fresh Leaves
Fresh leaves are long and large with dark green color, thick and soft leaves with strong tenderness, and buds are plump and sturdy.
Dried Leaves
The tea strips are thick, fat tea buds and leaves with obvious white fuzz, and the aroma is mainly floral and fruity.
Liquor
The clear, bright yellow liquor has a light fruity aroma. The taste is smooth, full-bodied, sweet, and refreshing. "Bing Dao" flavor is generally referred to as "rock sugar sweet taste" (冰糖甜). It leaves a full, long-lasting feel in the mouth and throat (hou yun). The aftertaste is lasting, and comforting with a slight astringency that will further diminish with additional storage.
Gongfu style (recommended)
About 5–7 g of leaf in a 100–120 ml gaiwan or small teapot, with water just off the boil (100 °C / 212 °F). Rinse once for 5–10 seconds and pour it away. Start with infusions of about 5–10 seconds and add a few seconds each round. Good leaf gives 8–15 infusions.
Mug or teapot
About 3–4 g per 250 ml, with water just off the boil. Rinse once, then steep 1–2 minutes for the first cup and a little longer for each cup after. The leaves give 3–4 cups.
Too bitter? Shorten the steep or use a little less leaf. Keep the water just off the boil.
Storage
Keep cakes in their paper wrappers, in a cardboard box, bamboo or unglazed clay, off the floor. Aim for 20–25 °C (68–77 °F) and 60–70% relative humidity, out of direct light, away from strong smells and with some airflow. For long-term aging, don't use the fridge, silica gel or airtight bags; a sealed tin is fine for the portion you are drinking now. Fuzzy or colored spots or a musty smell mean mold: don't drink it.
