2026 Zodiac Horse Raw Pu-erh Tea
Zodiac Commemorative Tea | “Jun Ma Zai Feng” (骏马载丰)
Created to celebrate Chinese zodiac culture and pay tribute to a classic tradition, “Jun Ma Zai Feng” is designed for both everyday drinking and long-term collection.
The “Tea + Zodiac” series began in 2008 and completed the full twelve-zodiac cycle in 2019.
“Jun Ma Zai Feng” is the 7th release in the second zodiac cycle, continuing the signature four-character naming tradition and carrying an auspicious wish of prosperity, growth, and abundant harvests year after year.
Selected Materials | Crafted with Care (Two Styles Available)
This release comes in two versions—choose based on your taste preference and aging goals:
- Raw Pu-erh (400g): Upgraded weight and quality, same price
-
Ripe Pu-erh (357g): Made with aged material and newly pressed (“aged material, new pressing”)
Even with a higher raw material cost, it is offered at the same price as the raw version.
The cake is pressed to a balanced firmness, helping the tea age more smoothly and develop a better texture and depth over time.
One Tea, Two Expressions | Great for Drinking or Collecting
- Raw Pu-erh: Like a galloping horse on open plains—bright, fresh, and energetic, with vivid character and vitality
- Ripe Pu-erh: Like an old steed returning to the stable—smooth, warm, and full-bodied, carrying the depth of time
Whether you seek the evolving character and aging potential of raw tea, or the comforting smoothness and ready-to-enjoy character of ripe tea, you’ll find your match here.
Raw Pu-erh (400g) | More Tea, Higher Quality
Made from carefully selected large-tree material from Xishuangbanna.
The infusion is fresh and lively with strong qi, highlighted by a clear floral-honey aroma—a commemorative zodiac tea with real aging potential.
Ripe Pu-erh (357g) | Aged Material, Newly Pressed
Crafted from well-aged ripe pu-erh material, then pressed using the “aged material, new pressing” approach.
With a deeper foundation in the leaf, it delivers a rich, mature character right from release:
- Bright red liquor
- Smooth, sweet, and rounded mouthfeel
-
Pronounced aged aroma (chen xiang)
Excellent for drinking now or storing for further development, with standout value.
Gongfu style (recommended)
About 5–7 g of leaf in a 100–120 ml gaiwan or small teapot, with water just off the boil (100 °C / 212 °F). Rinse once for 5–10 seconds and pour it away. Start with infusions of about 5–10 seconds and add a few seconds each round. Good leaf gives 8–15 infusions.
Mug or teapot
About 3–4 g per 250 ml, with water just off the boil. Rinse once, then steep 1–2 minutes for the first cup and a little longer for each cup after. The leaves give 3–4 cups.
Too bitter? Shorten the steep or use a little less leaf. Keep the water just off the boil.
Storage
Keep cakes in their paper wrappers, in a cardboard box, bamboo or unglazed clay, off the floor. Aim for 20–25 °C (68–77 °F) and 60–70% relative humidity, out of direct light, away from strong smells and with some airflow. For long-term aging, don't use the fridge, silica gel or airtight bags; a sealed tin is fine for the portion you are drinking now. Fuzzy or colored spots or a musty smell mean mold: don't drink it.
