"Pu Yun" ripe Pu'er tea originates from the secluded regions of southern Yunnan and is meticulously crafted from the tender buds and leaves (almost entirely bud heads) of ancient high-mountain trees. These leaves are stored and aged for 10 years before being pressed into tea cakes.
These trees have well-developed root systems enriched by a century of rain and dew, containing a wealth of substances. The leaves, high in amino acids and pectin, undergo 10 years of aging and fermentation with old tea leaves, resulting in a thick, full-bodied, and smoothly sweet taste. Over a 3,650-day aging process, tea polyphenols undergo oxidative polymerization reactions, transforming into theaflavins and thearubigins, which change the tea from bitter to sweet and mellow.
